Holter Monitoring (24 hour)

    Basic Facts
Also known as ECG Ambulatory Monitoring
Preparation: Wear slacks or a skirt and a front button type blouse or shirt.
Duration: 15 minutes for hook-up, 5 minutes for removal approximately 24 hours later.
Holter Monitoring (24 hour)

This procedure monitors your heart's rate and rhythm for 24 hours to detect abnormal or irregular heart beats. You will be asked to wear a lightweight recorder with leads attached to your chest area. During this time, you should continue your normal activities, day and night. After this time period, you will return the recorder to our office. The technician will give you complete instructions at the time of hook-up.
